Baldness
What is baldness?
Common baldness is responsible for 99 percent of hair loss in men
and women. Although not much is known about this condition, hereditary
as well as hormones and age seem to be contributing factors. To
define baldness would be to say that is the state of lacking hair
in a place where it is expected, the head. Don Herold once said
that the thing of baldness is that it is neat.
Symptoms of baldness
Male pattern baldness usually starts with the thinning of the hair
at the hairline as is often referred to as a receding hairline.
This is then followed by the appearance of a thinned or bald spot
at the crown of the head. In women pattern baldness does not generally
result in bald patches, however it just results in the thinning
of the hair in general. Hair is an important part of anyone's life
and much emphasis is placed on hair in most societies. It is natural
that between 70 and 100 hairs fall out on a daily basis as new hair
grows in its place. However as age becomes a factor the hair re-growth
process slows or stops which could result in baldness.
When it comes to baldness there are varied reactions that are experienced
from those with this condition. This could include a general acceptance
to the condition, with a comfortable adaption. However others could
experience more severe problems such as anxiety, depression, social
phobia as well as a poorer self image. If you have a problem with
your baldness there is a solution for you; speak to a professional
about the various hair replacement treatments available.
It is important that you care for the hair you have today as you
may experience temporary or permanent hair loss tomorrow which can
result in baldness.
